A new client experience at Rodeo FX
project
Renovation of the reception area and meeting spaces
A leading name in the film industry, Rodeo FX regularly welcomes local and international clients to its filming and production studios in Old Montreal.
FOR. reimagined the visitor journey as an experience in itself—one designed to make a lasting impression on the directors and actors who have, quite literally, seen it all.
The reception area was repositioned and reoriented to open up a more intuitive connection to the filming and production studios. Similar to a hotel lobby, the elevated reception desk is integrated into a black architectural volume that extends seamlessly into a 10-person client conference room. Champagne-toned curtains glide across bronze-tinted glass, allowing privacy to shift with the needs of each moment. Layers of materials, transparency and opacity create a visual rhythm inspired by the very nature of Rodeo FX’s work: dimension built one layer at a time.
The new spatial configuration relocates the large cloakroom behind reception, freeing up space for an immersive brand experience. A portal carved into black pyramidal acoustic foam recalls the 3D texture maps developed by Rodeo FX, with the studio’s logo emerging directly from its surface.
At the end of the corridor, an informal lounge blends into a contemporary artwork, extending the colourful mural from the exterior façade into the interior. Conversation can continue in a variety of settings - round table, sectional seating, an acoustic booth, or lounge chairs. The layering continues here: open shelving, translucent curtains, a cotton pendant, daylight filtering through vegetation from the overhead skylight, red brick walls and a fuchsia acoustic band come together in a composition that feels both unexpected and cohesive.
A place where the raw character of Old Montreal meets the visual language of a studio immersed in the digital world, the space becomes a backdrop, somewhere between immersion and layering.
